Apple updated their Mac range day before yesterday and now it’s possible to purchase a Mac Workstation Pro with 8800GT Graphics Card. This card is equipped with 512Mb of GDDR3 memory and supports Dual Link DVI. Earlier this year Apple had said that 8800GT will be an exclusive option for the new Mac Pro. Apple Mac’s usually come with low to mid end graphics card and there is no option to include a high end graphics card in your Mac, so this option must be welcomed by one and all.

MacBook

Finally, Apple gave MacBook and Macbook Pro a face lift. They sport the Intel’s new Penryn chips which require low power and are also light-weight. The MacBook Pro has been provided with LEDs and updated GPU memory. The processor speeds have been upped from 2.4 GHz to 2.6 GHz, while the higher-end models have been gifted with an Nvidia’s GeForce 8600M GT graphics card with up to 512 MB memory and sexy trackpad.

Now a 17-inch MacBook Pro model, featuring a 2.GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 6MB of cache memory, and a 250GB hard drive, is available for $2,799. That’s not too much for the quality and features offered by this lappy.

Apple Logo

With the immanent shut down of the site thinksecret.com, a victory is granted to apple against the leaks about apple’s future products and it enrages many to retort aggressively against the company. So does this mean that tall free speech is questioned upon by the closure of a site that encouraged free journalism? Apple filed a lawsuit against the site in 2004 for preventing the site from leaking out its trade secrets. In response to this the filed a lawsuit against apple making a motion field under the California doctrine that is meant to prevent any baseless law suites that inhibit the right to free speech.

Mac OS X Leopard

The Mac OS X arrived with the sonic boom in the blogosphere. Did you hear that! It was expected though. So excited was everyone that you had the Leopard patched to run on PC DVD’s on the very first day of the launch! But makes my job difficult alright! There’s such slew of things in the OS that a small article won’t do. So here I go, *sigh*There are a lot of changes not only in the included productivity programs, improved security and improvements scattered all over the landscape. While there is no ONE compelling feature to run out and get the upgrade, there are so many improvement in the hyped 300 features( not everyone them of much consequence) in Leopard that many would consider upgrading. To them the 2.5 years wait, longest in Mac OS history, has been worth it. The stuff is selling like crazy already!New Look (more…)

After my earlier article on how to install Mac OSX Leopard on a PC. I was thinking about those fellows who can’t download or install the Leopard on their PC, so I requested my friend designer kid to help me write something for my readers to give their desktop an Ultimate Mac OS X Leopard Transformation!

Download Leopard Transformation Pack

Mirror:
One
(Megaupload.com)

Two (TinyUpload.com)

Update:
1. Due to exceeding downloads and bandwidth, I had to transfer the files to an external server.
2. Mac OS X Cursor Pack updated.

I thought of downloading the complete pack won’t be easy for those unlucky fellows on dial-up connection, so I am adding links to individual Parts of the Ultimate Mac OS X Leopard Transformation Pack.

Windows Default Convert From This To This Leopard Patched

So here we begin as the the main feature of OS X are the Login Screen, the Dock bar etc. So first of all we will add a dock menu and start the process which transforms “Windows XP OS” into a “MAC OS X”. (more…)

Hacking iPod Touch

Mail, Weather, Google Maps or Stocks are not included in the new iPod Touch! You might be wondering why, but the answer seems to be they are coming. In all probability Apple may not be supplying them but third parties would. It is a little curious, iPhone and the Touch are practically the same platform, runs the same Mac OS X. unofficial word from inside Apple iPod touch runs exactly the same applications, “they use the same damn binaries”! With a curious twist decision to maintain differentiation Apple did not include the four applications mentioned. iPod Touch is entertainment oriented while the iPhone is obviously into communication hub personal productivity area. Kind of a forced differentiation, considering they use the same core OS and programming framework. User interface elements differ slightly, of course.
