
With the immanent shut down of the site thinksecret.com, a victory is granted to apple against the leaks about apple’s future products and it enrages many to retort aggressively against the company. So does this mean that tall free speech is questioned upon by the closure of a site that encouraged free journalism? Apple filed a lawsuit against the site in 2004 for preventing the site from leaking out its trade secrets. In response to this the filed a lawsuit against apple making a motion field under the California doctrine that is meant to prevent any baseless law suites that inhibit the right to free speech.

We heard about USB planning to increase its speed by 10 fold from the current USB 2.0 back in September with USB 3.0 specs complete by mid-2008, but FireWire apparently had no intention of sitting back and being outdone. The 1394 Trade Association announced last week a new specification for FireWire that uses the same connections and cables but promises 4 times the speed of the current FireWire bringing potential speeds of up to 3.2 Gbps.

Opera the maker of the popular opera web browser has filed an anti-trust law suite against Microsoft in the EU courts. According to the statement from Opera, it accuses Microsoft of making it harder for other browsers by using its dominant position to package Internet Explorer which is the Microsoft Browser along with the Microsoft OS. Jet Blue Airways have now announced that soon along with Yahoo and RIM they will also be offering their passengers internet access through Wi-Fi during their flights. The users can now use the yahoo messenger during the flight as well as check their email. The users can also use their blackberry phones to check their mails. However, making phone calls using a mobile phone is strictly still prohibited on flights.

After much development mozilla finally has decided to release a bug fix for its browser that would repair a long standing security flaw in the software. Mike Schroepfer who is mozilla’s vice president of engineering has said that the current update that will be update 2.0.0.10 has undergoing through much testing and is now gong through the final development stages to make sure that there are no issues with this update.
