DONGLE, DONGLE, DONGLE, Do you or don’t you DONGLE? Everybodys doing the DONGLE
We normally don’t revisit technology companies a second time. But when they are offering a freebie to our users and they are sitting on a booming technology such as mobile broadband we think its worth a second look. Given a free laptop offer for comparing broadband deals and an attractively priced deal on dongles, we felt this was too good to pass up for our CoolWizardz.com subscribers and new readers.
What are dongles? A dongle is a small piece of hardware that connects to a computer and is typically used for digital rights management (e.g. to prevent unauthorized duplication or copying of expensive software). For mobile broadband applications a dongle is a USB modem that you can plug into your desktop or mobile PC which gives you broadband access anywhere with 3G coverage. This functionality is especially useful for lap top users that are always on the move which is practically every one in the business world nowadays, business owners, sales people, consultants, bankers, teachers, engineers, etc. These services are slower than fixed line broadband which means that multimedia intensive applications such as MMORPG gaming will not work so well. But for typical corporate warriors running Excel and Powerpoint on their PCs and sharing files, this broadband service should work just fine.
Vodaphone currently offers the fastest package of the available service proviers within the same price range of 10 British pounds for our UK users. The speeds are up to 7.2Mb. Of course this could change quickly, but at least of todays date this is where we are.
Here in NYC where I live you see Apple iPhone users everywhere using broadband services. At street corners they are bringing up maps, at Star Bucks they are surfing random sites, on the train they are working it toggling calls and logging onto the internet, etc. If I had to guess this broadband mobile trend really does seem to have longevity. I dont think this is a fad or a fashion like bell bottoms that will come and go as fickle and frivolously as the weather. My own phone is way to slow for web surfing. Maybe is time for me to look for a mobile broadband provider.

Why in the world would I want to pay all this much money for that type of service. I can wait. by the end of the year for a new technology will start in about 4 or more states and within a year every square inch in the entire USA and Canada will be covered to a T1 mobile wifi internet for less than most dialup cost. the best of all. there is no contract.
Mobile Broadband user’s simply plug in an ultra-compact usb or express-card modem into their laptop and they instantly have access to the Internet……
