Opera Files Law Suite Against Microsoft

Opera Vs Microsoft

Opera the maker of the popular opera web browser has filed an anti-trust law suite against Microsoft in the EU courts. According to the statement from Opera, it accuses Microsoft of making it harder for other browsers by using its dominant position to package Internet Explorer which is the Microsoft Browser along with the Microsoft OS. This according to Opera harms the sale of other browsers as Microsoft gives the users a hand given choice in the web browsers. Opera has requested the commission to make Microsoft take necessary steps that would give the users a real choice. Opera also complains that Microsoft’s web standards are corrupted according to practice. In response to this Microsoft has said that they have given their users full freedom to choose whatever web browser that the desire as their default web browser including Opera and that the PC manufacturers can pre-install any web browser into the machine and sell them. Microsoft also said that they will co-operate in any issue of investigation that has to be undertaken and says that the inclusion of web browser in the system by default is only for the benefit of its paying customers.
