Microsoft has now released the Service Pack 1 for Microsoft Office 2007. This service pack consists of enhancements that concentrate on this versions stability and performance. This service pack is available online as a free download from office online. The SP1 also is packed with an automatic update that will come into action within 3 to 4 months.
What’s different is that the latest service pack of Office 2007 does not concentrate much on features. Speaking about this, Reed Shaffner, product manager for Microsoft Office said, “People were generally happy with the tools we’ve offered in [Office] 2007.” Adding, “You’re not going to hear about a ton of new features.” Office 2007 has seen strong sales that Microsoft officials have credited with significantly bolstering the company’s financial earnings. Specific fixes to boost the stability under certain conditions, including the five bugs that most often crashed each Office application, along with other advancements such as compatibility with Windows Server 2008, enhanced performance and improved protection from security threats are the new add-ons that SP1 includes. Last month, the software giant had revealed that Office SP1 wouldn’t be available until next year, but the latest announcement seems like quite a relief for most.
