In Flight Internet Access By JetBlue Airways

JetBlue Airways

Tired of getting no internet access on the planes? Well fear no more. Jet Blue Airways have now announced that soon along with Yahoo and RIM they will also be offering their passengers internet access through Wi-Fi during their flights. The users can now use the yahoo messenger during the flight as well as check their email. The users can also use their blackberry phones to check their mails. However, making phone calls using a mobile phone is strictly still prohibited on flights.

If the trial run of this system goes well then Jet Blue plans to give Wi-Fi access to all its passengers so that long flights are made more enjoyable and tolerable. This will come to special benefit for the business people who are almost always on the move. Even though the usage of cell phones on the plane is still banned the passengers can still make VoIP through Skype and other such similar services. Following up with jet blue’s plans other airline companies also seem to have followed on. American airlines is planning to offer broad band speed Wi-Fi tying up with its broadband partner air cell. This is a big leap in terms of internet connectivity.
