Wii Vs Xbox

The Nintendo gaming console Wii has now caught up to Microsoft’s Xbox 360 in the total market share. This is despite the fact that the Xbox 360 had about 1 year of head start. Even so the Xbox 360 still maintains a very sizable lead over the Playstation 3 from Sony which is considered to be its more direct competitor.

With the advent of the holiday season a large number of gaming console’s are manufactured and sold. This becomes a major competition ground for the gaming consoles. The holiday season this time are most important to determine how the market shares will turn out to be for the rest of the year and the competition will also be stiff as the Xbox 360 and the Sony play station 3 are in more supply now as the prices have come down for both these consoles quite a bit in the market. With Nintendo consoles sales in the Japanese market this would make the race for the top for these three consoles increasingly intense. The Wii has sold over 13.2 million units world wide while the Xbox has sold over 13.4 units. With this Nintendo and Microsoft dominate the gaming console generation
