Gateway XHD3000 30-Inch Extreme HD LCD

Most current 30 inch displays offer anything more than the resolution and big display areas. Hardly any controls are available for adjustments. Not so with this gateway unit. It not only delivers on the high resolution and large display area it has lots of adjustments and works with many display adapters too. But then it is pricier too by a few hundred dollars at $1700.

Most other monitors in its class usually lets you change only the brightness while the Gateway display has a whole host of controls. These include gamma, saturation and black levels. The EZTune software makes basic changes simple while an on screen display make tuning up other parameters easy too. The OSD menu and relevant buttons that light up makes tuning quite simple too.
The Gateway display has the usual 2560×1600 resolution like the others and dual graphics card that support DVI-I connectors. However, it supports a single link DVI and a VGA connections at 1980×1280 pixels to let you work with less capable systems. Our tests were on the full capability dual DVI-I links for all the benchmarks.
The XHD 3000 supports a set of other video connections to let you play video from external sources too. Foremost among these is the HDCP connector and you could play copy protected videos on it easily. Component, composite, S-video, HDMI offers you a whole range of choices for connecting to other video devices.
HD scenes from The phantom of the opera were crisp and detailed. Color reproduction was good too. The picture in picture lets you work with the Widows while you monitor a movie or vice versa and swap them at will. Sound output is not going to shatter a wine glass but co-ax and optical professional audio connectors lets you connect to external audio equipment at ease. Two headphone jacks on the side speaker bars allows two people to watch training videos without disturbing other people around.
Solid image quality, great features will force you to take notice. People in the competition better look closely what your own product needs to go head on with this one.
