Playstation 3 Price Cutdown Officially Confirmed

Playstation 3

The Playstation 3 prices are going to be lowered. Sony Computer Entertainment Europe seems to just confirm what we knew already. They do not call it a price cut though, according to them this is a new model! Sounds familiar!

The “new” 40 GB, HDD PS 3 will hit SCEE territories on Oct 10 at Euro 399 with SIXAXIS wireless controller, HDMI, 2 USB ports rather than 4, WiFi and no multi memory card port. It’s not going to be backwards compatible to PS 2.

The 60 GB HDD model will now sell for Euro 499 until stocks run out, may be they are emptying their stock and then discontinue that in European territory. I’ll check that and if that’s what is going to happen in these parts too. Stay tuned!!!

Dell Set To Go Green By 2008

Dell’s Green Notebook

Dell apparently is all set to go totally green, carbon neutral, by the year 2008. Mr. Dell himself pledged that. There’s been a lot of fuss over sometime past about this Ozone layer thing and its rising to a crescendo recently. Everybody is eager to lend their acoustic power to the whole thing!

What Mr. Dell said and apparently big boys are paying attention is “ There’s been a time in history of business where it’s more important for organizations of all sizes to partner together to positively impact the Earth that we all share… It’s not enough for Dell to be an environmental leader. We also need to partner with our customers … to dramatically improve our own customers’ environmental impacts”

Dell plans to create more energy efficient products and will utilize other energy efficient sources during production. Those measures seem a bit ambiguous to us—let’s see a completely biodegradable laptop made from nothing but recycled toilet rolls, then we would be impressed. Very, very impressed.

Diamond iPod Shuffle

There are quite a few examples of dolling up the plain old iPod with dollops of snob appeal. But other than parting some categories of the humankind from their cash what do these devices achieve! There’s one here that kind of takes the cake this declaration of tawdriness. This example is a little better, a lot cheaper at $600! UK jeweler John Harrington’s iPod shuffle still makes me uneasy.

This one is laser etched with 5 diamond embedded on it’s body. Makes that about seven and a half times more expensive than the original, playing the same old MP3s for heaven’s sake! Where does one stop at this iPointlessness !!!!
