Guess what? People are just celebrating launch of OS X Leopard by Apple but a group of ’special’ people have already created patched DVD Disc using which any person can get the OS X Leopard experience on his/her very own PC !!
So are read to install the OS X Leopard on my workstation? (I am desperately waiting for the download of DVD to complete, meanwhile writing this)
Alright, so I have got the DVD image and the ‘Patch’ in a compressed archive, so here are the further steps I (you) need to follow:
1.
Open DVD disc Image in any CD/DVD creation application, best example for a PC user would be the Nero and burn that DVD image into any Blank DVD.
2.
Thinking what is to be done with that ‘Patcher’ which I downloaded with the image? Well you need to copy the all file inside that compressed archive into a formatted Pen Drive (Flash Drive) and just make sure the pen drive is named exactly as “Patcher“. This is important for the patcher to do its patching. Before moving further check everything; The DVD for any writing error or in the pen drive. In your pen drive the folder structure should be like this:
x:/files/ (where x: indicates your drive letter)
3.
Now we are ready to go, just run the setup by booting through the DVD we just burnt. The Leopard setup is not gonna be any lighter than that of Microsoft Vista! So don’t be eager.
4.
The next steps would be usual steps like selecting default language etc. Select yours and untick other packs to move further. Now you may sit down as Windows XP used to say go and relax Mac will run the installation.
5.
After the process is done, the setup will do a usual reboot and while doing that insert the pen drive having the ‘Patcher‘ in the USB port.
6.
So now we will start the patching of the Mac OS X Leopard. Repeat the Step3 until you reach the Darwin Bootloader. That’s the right moment to strike the F8 Key on your keyboard. A prompt will appear on the screen, enter -s and press enter key (this is required to start the Verbose mode). Once the setup is loaded select your Language. Once done you should now be seeing the Welcome Screen. And when you are there navigate to Utilities-Terminal.
Once the terminal loads up, you now need to browse to your USB Drive, so follow the steps below, typing it exactly as it appears below in the Terminal. In the command line type the following as they appear here:
(’cd‘ and ‘..‘ separated by a space key stroke)
cd ..
cd ..
cd Volumes
cd Patcher
cd files
7.
Now all you have to do is run the patcher, and to do that type the following code into the Terminal “. ./9a581PostPatch.sh“ (without cotes) and as the patcher starts to run. Just make sure you pick Yes if asked for confirmation on removing the ACPUPowerManagement.kext, well this was the last part. Let the patcher do the remaining work and reboot to enter the world of Mac OS X Leopard on your PC!!
Wait! don’t want to see how it looks?
Ohh fellows please don’t ask me share these files! You know what will be the result. And I love my website and don’t want it to be sued or BANNED! Just one suggestion, use a GOOD torrent portal!
UPDATE : Hey fellows if you don’t want to take the pains to install this then use our Ultimate Leopard Transformation Pack to make your Windows XP look like Leopard!
Here’s the link : Ultimate Leopard Transformation Pack

@ Matheus
I would have loved to do so, but I can’t because I don’t want my site to be sued or banned. You can try many torrent sites out there. I am sure you will find one there with the patch.

Hey thank you for this info but do you think you can send me the link in a email or something not out in the open??
February 10th, 2008 at 4:16 am
I am confused, you know every where is saying you need a patched DVD of leopard. Well what would happen if you tried installing it from the ordinary disc, has any one had a go at that yet?
I have got 2 macs any way, but i would like to try and install it on one of my pcs, and it takes forever to download it, so i was just wondering if i could use the original leopard disc, that came with the computer.

@ Aaryansh
I don’t think that is a patch (3.5Gb is huge). But you can always give it a try. Maybe that works.

@ Alex S
I don’t think the original Leopard disc that came with your Mac would run on your PC.
But you can surely give it a try using a good patch.

Yes the bootcamp works fine.
March 18th, 2008 at 6:28 am
I got one …thanx …but why couldn’t you send ‘em to me like to others? …i hope this one works, it’s only one file …but as this guide suggests, you need one image for the dvd and some files for the usb patcher …i got just one with a dvd patched …is 4+ GB so i guess it should be :-S
I’ll let you know how it went…
March 18th, 2008 at 10:03 am
@VJ
Dude I got sick of mailing the patches to people. So I stopped giving it from now.
But as you have got the DVD image, so install it and enjoy. And dude these days the DVD is patched itself, so no need to apply external patch. And I guess your DVD is already patched. So just burn it to a blank DVD and install in your PC.

Cumon guys, don’t ask for torrents and patch links here. Just search on the net. This place isn’t for providing download links.
May 29th, 2008 at 11:02 pm
Hi everyone …ok as Ashish says i found the ISO already patched on the Pirate Bay, just look for it …it took years downloading though.
I was able to install it and it ran ok …but i switched back to windows ’cause i had trouble with the keyboard of my laptop and i needed many windows apps at the time …i founded on the same apple website the way MAC OSX maps a PC keyboard and i’m thinking on trying again since i now have the time.

Hey guys,
I have a mac, but bad lucks made that it’s currently in Africa while I’m in Canada. So now my boss just gave me a PC, but I can’t work with Windows since I know OS X… That’s another debate.
Anyway, I had the idea of installing OS X on that new ThinkPad T61 (and pray to God that I’ll get my MacBook Pro back one day…). So I did some research on the web. I found that osx86 project, but after some reading I was afraid to try it. I read that network won’t work at all and that I won’t have no sound no more.
Do you guys experienced any problems of that kind? Is the osx86 project related in anyways with that patched DVD you’re talking about?
Thanks a lot!
